Hello,
At dog park this afternoon, I met the coolest senior dogs. Jessie, an 11 year old Golden Samoyed mix, although I like the concept of simply "Golden Samoyed". Sounds like one of those designer dogs that people pay a fortune for. But she looked like a golden sable fur coat...(please forgive me for saying that). Jessie is, also, notable for what she did not do. She was a leader school drop-out. Being a bit skittish so she did not make it as a service dog. But what a great mutt.
The usual suspects were not there early today. As I left, I ran into Mochi and human. Invited them to a trip to Prairie Wolf dog preserve out in the burbs. It takes a long time to get out there, but definitely worth the effort. Walked several miles with my dog off leash. It was great to be out in nature...not hearing trains or cars or sirens. When we returned, my pup ate dinner and fell into bed. It was good for both of us to get out of the city. Life is quieter and perhaps duller, but clean in the burbs. It has some appeal...for about 10 minutes. We are city people and city dogs, but enjoy the great outdoors, nonetheless.
I promised to mention Tera (with crutches and bone problems from running) and her little rescue cockapoo, Dolly. Also, Ken and James wanted me to mention little white, Cheeto. The rescued Cheeto (singular of Cheetos) a little maltapoo. Lot of that poo going on. Cheeto got his name when he arrived at the rescue center in Kenosha. The staff was all munching on Cheetos, hence, the name. It is like dog name etymology. Always interesting. BoBo the husky's name was given to him by Rob's ex-girl friend. He doesn't know the why's or wherefores.
People were asking about Maureen and where has she been keeping herself. Actually, I think that it is more a matter of when not if she shows up. I need to hear the latest installment of Knit Night stories. The "girls" get quite alot of press, apparently. Ask Maureen what that means.
Apropos of absolutely nothing, I saw a terrific movie which I am recommending. It is "Frozen River" which is a small independent film that was nominated for an Oscar, but had little following. It left me in awe. You can see it on Comcast if so inspired. It is very verbal for anyone who likes alot of dialogue in a movie. It's about miracles amid the double wides and the snow. My dog, Jordan, gave it two thumbs up.
That's all she wrote. Roe
