Hi,
I am going to write about Bear today. Bear is about 4 years old, a yellow lab and akita mix.
He came from Paws, but this was his third adoption. He had come to Paws with his brother. Sadly, they did not get adopted together. At 2 1/2, Bear went through two homes prior to arriving at his forever home. His human, an Army vet with two deployments in Iraq totaling 2 years and 4 months. Fortunately, he came home uninjured. He said that Bear had been through several homes because, well....he has issues with cats. So, do I...and many others. Bear is sweet and romps around and likes to bark at other dogs who appear dominating to him. He looks like Frank (the tank) English Yellow Lab. The English labs are stocky and low to the ground. Bear has akita ears which flop with every step he takes. Quite amusing...I guess I think we should support our vets and our dogs.
Also, at dp today was Charlie. Charlie is a handsome boy of 6 years who came from the Anti-Cruelty Society. He was older when adopted. He is mostly white with a terrific caramel colored patch over one eye. He is a ????not sure, but think, sheperd, akita, collie and who knows what else hybrid. Doesn't that sound much better than MUTT? Mutt rhymes with Butt...not so good.
Memorial Day is coming. Did you know that dogs played a big part in the battle of Guadalcanal? Yes they did. Some got medals.
Not too much is shaking right now. I will get back to you later.
That's all she wrote. Roe
