DOG-O-RAMA

Hello,

Not to much to add to the mix. It is hot and humid in dp. I tried the shade for about 15 minutes around noon, but it was too hot for my best dog friend who always wears a heavy fur coat. I have seen numerous dogs shaved for the summer. But, my doggie is getting up in age, slowing down and I did not want to shave her and freak her out. I think it would be a hard adjustment for an older girl.

One human at dp had a bit of a similar thing. This human wanted to change their hair color. It was a big thing and not one that could be reversed. But the human did change the color and looks great. I mention to this human that they looked ten years younger. And, they did.

Promise and gender identity: I kept calling Promise, a definite female of the species, He/Him. I then felt guilty about it. Her human most generously pointed out that Promise was not offended by gender mis-identification. And, in fact, Promise did not know about gender other than what hormones that she can sniff on other dogs. It's also like giving you dog half or less of a treat. They do not appreciate portion control. What the Hello....a treat is a treat. Reducing the size of the treat just means more treats for our dogalicious creatures.

I keep wondering when the park expansion is going to occur. It is near mid-summer....isn't the city using TARP money to fund this thing and put some people back to work and some money in the economy. The stimulous package was not stimulating enough. I have noticed that many people do not discuss politics at the park. Then again, some chose to be provocative and will take the opposite position on almost any subject....hint: this human has two labs, one yellow and one chocalate...a now post Census worker....post his trip to Alaska. John-boy....caught buying fruits and vegetables from a street vendor on Irving Park, may have been the one who started the apochrophol (SP) story of Gary's Census Alaskan venture. I have discovered...only after several years, that humans from NYC often use flat toned reverse humor. For example, if you thought someone was cool, one w..ould say to the cool person that they were a bag of doo-doo.
Such as, Hello, you old bag of ... it took me two years to figure out that this is inverted NY humor. I recall first moving here and I used to have inverted sarcastic NY humor. It took me years of therapy to recover from it.

Jordan went to the vet today for her physical. It was hard since she has slowed down for the first time this summer. So, she was tested for thyroid and other stuff. But, most older dogs should be taking more glucosamine chondritin than is in even great dog food. So, tomorrow it starts. Perhaps her slowing down has to do with, not arthritis, but thinning of joint membranes. We shall see. All of us who have watched our beloved dogs age wonder how it happened so fast. Everyday is precious with our child dogs.

Guess what? Sting at Ravinia this Saturday night. Wow.

That's all she wrote. Roe
