DAYS IN THE SUN

DAYS IN THE SUN

Hello..to all of you dog park sun worshipers. I saw you all languid in the fading sunlight, holding onto the lingering days of sunshine and warmth. Several people in the past several days have mentioned what happens after fall. You know what that is. We will survive. Hopefully, the economy will have picked up to allow a sunshine vacation for us'n...
(That is a creative apostrophe of us all, n'all as they say in the South...but what do they know). The lost the War of Yankee Aggression, at least, miliatarily, because it is still post Civil War even though we are in the next Millenium...there are still vestiges of racism that exist. We shall overcome...

Dogs Du Jour: Today we are going to celebrate a new park pup, named Gus the Bernaise Highlander. What a luscious boy he is. Everyone was getting the "blankey" effect from hugging and kissing this yummy boy. He is 4 1/2 months old and came from a breeder in NJ. His human had to drive to NJ and bring him back by car. The breeder would not allow him to be sent by air or freight. Good breeder...apparently, she cried a river when he left. Her loss, our gain. Another sweetie du jour is Baxter the German Shepard and his tiny dog sis a Chuauah??? named Stella. Molto cuto. Apparently, Stella runs big bro German Shepard around their home. Why not. The Audacity of Hope, canine variety.

This the 9th anniversary of 9/11 brought a host of shows and rewinds of that horrible day. I must say that I think I watched too much. Still attempting to come to some grips with the horrific event. But, after viewing about 6 hours of a variety of shows about it all, I had reached a saturation point. It does not dishonor those who were lost not to indulge it. Someone asked when will it fade away? Next year will be very big for the 10th anniversary. Generally, the upset and hoopla fades for most. However, for the families, it will never fade. But, in December, the 7th is still remembered, so this will probably be with us for the rest of our lives, consciously or unconsciously.

The collective unconscious of dog park is a coalesced essence of urbanity with a myriad of ideas, politics, economic views, neighborhood perspectives and an amalgam of it all. Humanity arrives with the dogs. Just doing a thought rift for you all.

I want to remember Boomer, a Bernaise who went to the Rainbow Bridge about 6 months ago. His Humana, said that she so fell in love with Boomer, whom she met when he was 2 years old that she would marry him. I told her I understood. So, in memory of those sweet doggies whom we have loved, smile and remember with a tender heart all the love that they gave you. I ran into someone today at dp who knew my second Golden Retriever named "Lucy". She was the first Lucy in Lakeview...honestly. I rescued her from RAGS (Rescue a Golden Service) now defunct. Boy, did I luck out. Since I used to have my therapy office in my home, Lucy did the therapy and I signed the forms. This person remembered her with love and sweetness. The day I had her put down, on the way to the Vets, someone stopped us and said that she was the most beautiful dog he had ever seen. They all steal our hearts...our little bandits.

I have it on reliable info that as soon as we get a park drawing rendering or whatever it is called by architects, we submit for bids and then...perhaps by the Presidential election, we will have a park extension. Prez should have given jobs to people to complete the renovation.

Since I seemed to have run out of anything, except run on sentences, I will end today's blog before it further devolves.

That's all she wrote. Roe
